‘Chinamaxxing’ is a trend in which people, often non-Chinese people, intentionally adopt aspects of Chinese culture, lifestyle, aesthetics or products. 

Throughout the process of IVF, prospective parents can make certain embryo selection decisions using pre-implantation genetic testing. This is mainly used to select embryos without genetic or chromosomal abnormalities. This technology can also be used to select embryos that are of a certain sex and that have certain aesthetic traits (e.g. eye colour, hair colour, and height).

Safetyism refers to a philosophy which started to become prominent in the 1980s. Safetyism reduced the independence of children and young teenagers, and instead emphasised social and extracurricular activities that were designed and supervised by adults. 

Introduced at the end of WWII, Article 9 of Japan's constitution prevents Japan from maintaining war potential (such as land, sea, and air forces). It acts to prevent Japan from engaging in offensive military action, but permits the existence of Japan's Self-Defence Force.
